LAPT Mexico

Hey there,

Like most of you have already heard, I was playing in the LAPT Mexico event that was held this weekend in Puerto Vallarta.

I was down to 5K before the first break,(starting stack 10K) by missing a pair flush draw on the flop, open ended flush draw on the flop, and then a double gut flush draw on the turn after the flop was checked. I finally hit a flush draw, after the guy bet 600 on every street and i was drawing to the nut flush draw. From then on, i chipped up nicely all the way up to 13K at the first break.

I Kept chipping up well, picking on 3 really bad players that could be 1, the tightest player i've played with in a tournament, 2. the weakest player i've played with in a tournament, and 3. the dumbest player (after 4 level of antes, 1 hour levels, he still didn,t know he had to ante) So i mostly picked up small pots from theses guys whenever they played a pot because if they didn't flop top pair, they would fold, and player 1. would fold an over pair. Then, i got and pro sent to my table and i thought this was going to be a long day now. I was on table 13, seat 3 and guess who comes and fills up table 13, seat 4, it was none other then this pro called Marc Karam aka Myst(You guys might have heard of him before). I knew i was in for a tough day now since our table wasn't breaking anytime soon. He didn't stay long because he busted in a huge pot about 8 hands later.(oops) I finished the next 2 levels with 19K in chips and really looking good. I was just controlling the table, and the players that could put resistance, were really short, so i was happy about my situation.

I came back after break, and got into this pot when the super weak player limped UTG for 300, I then made it 1150 to go with AT trying to isolate and taking the pot down with most flops with a C-bet. But then, a player moved all in for 2200 more. With roughly 5300 in the pot, and costing me 2200 to call, for about 13% of my stack, i decided to gamble. He ended up having QQ. I was looking good after the AA4 flop, but then the Q on the turn crushed me, and the Q on the river finished it. It wasn't a huge pot, but it would have put me right up around 25K, but now i'm down to 17K which is still in good shape. I played a pot from the button with a new player to the table that basically raised 4 pots out of 10. I floated the flop and tried to take it down on the turn, but he called and i gave up. He had AK on an A J 9 9 2 board. So now down to 12K ish.

I'm in the BB with just over 9K now and a player limps early position, a player that limps everyhand, and the next players shoves it in with 4450 at the 200 - 400 level. ( this is a player that knows what he's doing, and the player i doubled up when he had Qs.) I look down at AdKx in the BB and reshove.
He has 88, Board comes Jd Jx 7d, turn 5d, river 5x. So now i'm down to about 5K.
2 hands later, when i'm on the button, a player raises to 1200, a player with a big stack is thinking for a while if he wants to call, and finally calls, i look down at 99, and figure i'm either racing or better against the player that made the call, so i shove in 4800. Initial raiser folds and the other player calls and tables Ax Tx, i have 9s9x. Flop comes 6s 7s Jx, turn As, River 4x.

Well, it was fun, i just couldn't win an all in. Same story as most my live tournaments. Oh well, maybe next time.

First WSOP Experience ... finally

So this is my first experience at the WSOP, and i have to say, the atmosphere is electric. I've seen the TV shows, and what people say is true. I always expected it to be kinda normal, and nothing that special, but its something that you really have to do.

Well
, where to begin ... I'll start by saying that i was extremely nervous. I showed up 10 minutes late, so the tourney had started. I sat down, and look down at AK the very first hand, and i end up winning the pot VS. Mark Seif and being up to 5K right off the start(started with 4K) From there, i built my stack up with small pots, playing in position. I also played this one hand vs Mark Seif also ...

He raises UTG to 175 at the and i call with 7s 8s in middle position. Flop comes Jh 2h 6s, he checks, i check, turn 8c, he bets 250$, i call. river is 10s, he checks, i bet 300, he calls and mucks. After this pot, this is where I finally became comfortable and said to myself that I could do this, and I just gotta play like i can and i will do fine.

I got my stack up to 9K at the first break. When I came back from break, I lost a couple pots and was down to 4500. A Vegas pro raises to 700 UTG and a crazy sweedish guy next to him makes it 2700, i look at QQ and i insta push since this guy is nuts ... he calls and he has TT and i hold.

This is the big hand, where i decided to gamble. I pick up Ac Kc UTG and i raise to 600 at 100-200 blinds, guy that has about 3500 calls, cut off calls, button call, SB calls, and BB calls. Flop comes Jc Js 3c. The pot is about 3850 because of antes, and the BB bets 1800, i decide to call with my flush draw, the short stack short shoves for 1100 more and we both call. Pot is 12550 and i got about 5200 left. Turn is Ks, and the BB puts me all in. i think about it for a while, and i'm getting 3.5 to 1, and i figured i have 10 outs, K or club not pairing up the kicker. I decide that either have a big stack or out. If i hit this, i'm going to be in great shape and will be able to control the table. I call, river 5c. Probably not the best hand, but its so hard to fold at any point there except on the turn when i'm all in for my tournament.

The next big hand i picked up was when i raised from the Cut off to 775 at 150 - 300 with 3h3d and the BB calls. I'm about 30K deep, he's about 18K deep. Flop comes Ac 4h 5h, he checks, and i check behind, i could feel a check raise here. Turn is Qd, he bets 1600, now i think he has a big hand, and i think he has something, so i can probably draw here and get paid on the river. I call, river 3c. He bets 3200, and i just shove a stack of 1000 chips enough to cover him and he snap called and mucked when he saw my hand. I don't know if i was right, but i think he had AQ or A5 or something like that. It was still pretty early and people weren't really 3 betting at this time, so AQ is a good posibility.

From there, i just chipped up, made a couple 3 bets with big hands in the blinds. I was getting alot of respect, people were really scared of me. A guy folded AK to me preflop when he raised from the Cut off + 1 and i was in the cut off and re-raised him with AK, its ok though, i told him i had AA.

I won a nice pot with K 10 in the BB when it was folded around to the SB and he completed, and i checked(blinds 400 - 800). Flop came Kh 10h 9c, he checks, i bet 1150, he calls. Turn 5s, he checks, i bet 2400, he calls. River is 2s. He checks, at this point, i figure he has somekind of pair, maybe something like J 10, Q 10. So i bet out 4450. He thought for abit, and said "do you think i missed my flush" and its funny, because i was thinking exactly that when i bet, i wanted him to think that i thought he missed the flush. Anyways, he calls and mucks.

That was the last big hand of the day for me. I finish the day with about 78 000 in chips which put me in the top 10 in chips.

Day 2 started, i didn't get alot of sleep. Day 2 in tournaments is new to me, and it was rough. I came to the tables confident that i could do this and keep it going. I had alot of chips, there was about 115 left with top 99 making money.

I started off the day pretty smooth, only stealing blinds, and chipping up with nothing special happening. The other big stack was getting pist because i raised his BB twice, once with AKs, the other with 55. He said "three !!!", i responded "what ? what are you talking about three", he responds "that's two, 3rd time, i'm going to re raise." I just started laughing my head off, saying "Ok buddy, I'm UTG + 1 and i'm stealing your BB!!" I proceeded to make fun of his "three!!" by doing the same thing to people that were raising my BB. The whole table was laughing and having fun with it.

The very next time i raise his BB, i have JJ and its folded to him, and he's taking out chips for a Re-raise, i was going to insta shove bomb it, but he eventually decided to call since i had about 100K and he had probably around 120K. I think the blinds were 1K - 2K and i made it 5100. Flop comes A Q 3, he check, i check. Turn 5, he checks, i bet 8K, he calls. River is K, he checks, and i almost bet because i really thought he had a PP, and that he would call, but decided to check and he showed 22. Not sure if he would have called.

This is where the fun Begins, a new player joins the table to my right, and he has about 180K in chips, and my stack is around 115K i guess. First hand he sits down, he raises to 8K from UTG + 1(blinds 1500-3000) and i call with 77, everyone else folds. Flop comes K 6 2 rainbow, he leads for 13 500, at this point, i could have the best hand, and if he has a K, i'm going to find out right away. So i decide to make it 34 500 total, he tanks for abit, and decides to fold. I really like it, because i think he folds alot of hands that beat me, like QQ to 88 and maybe even a weak K. Don't forget its his first hand at the table.

2 hands later, we are in the blinds together and he just completes, and i check with Q 8. Flop comes Qs 3c 3h, both check, turn 2s, he bets 7500, i call, river is 2c. He checks, and i decide to check behind since i don't think he can call anything without beating me, so i decide to look at his hand and check, he shows 10d 4d.

The Very next hand, its folded to him on the button and he makes it 8K to go, i look down at you know what Ah Ad. At this point, i'm dancing in my head, i know he's getting tired of me, i took 2 pots off him in the first 5 hands since he joined the table, so i know he's getting frustrated. So i re-raised to 24 000 and i'm almost sure he's going to re-raise because i know he's an online player, and they're tilt boxes when they get pushed around. He tanks for abit and finally pushes all in, and i snap call, jump out of my chair. He tables K J and the board runs out K x x, x, J and he wins. I just scream "NOOOOO !!" and start walking around. It takes the TD about 5 minutes to count our chip stacks, since we are both in the Top 10 in chips with 74 left, we have alot of chips. I had about 25K in black chips alone. The chip counts end up being 156K for him, and about 153K for me.

GG me, was an incredible ride but i wish i could win that pot and really have a shot at an FT.

Thats long enough, i don't really remember that much from my other big cash, so i'm not going to talk that much about it.

See you next year WSOP !!

Best night in poker in a LONG time !

As some of you may know, i went on a huge downswing with online and live poker. I've been running terrible and i guess i wasn't playing too well either. I was constantly frustrated and making emotional decisions instead of the right poker decision. My pokerstars account got all the way down to 0$. I took some days off to maybe clear my head and get away from poker for a few weeks. The last month is probably the least poker I've played in a couple years. So i made another deposit to take advantage of the bonus on Stars. This is what happen ....

Today, i started playing a 12$ - 180 SNG and i totally crushed the final table picking up so many hands, and holding almost every time. I decided to take a new line in theses things and try not to raise with mediocre hands when I'm going to be committed to call. I also decided to min raise even with lets say 10BBs because it seems people push with worst hands like 90% of the time.

(i pushed blind UTG with 4.5BBs and the SB re shoved, i look down at 72off, and he had 64 off) .... LOL

So Anyways, to make a long story short, i played 5 of the 12$ 180 mans today, my results were .... 1rst, 47th, 1rst, 3rd and 10th. With everything else i played today, i end up making in the area of 1200$ which is huge for confidence.

I guess i got the ZJD bug now, going to go nuts on theses 180 mans.

Turning Stone week

I went to Turning Stone for the Tournament week and it started off pretty good. About 5 hands in, i doubled up at blinds 25- 50 with AA vs KK to pick up a 40K stack, yes 20K starting stack. That put me in good shape early and allowed me to keep building my stack. I got my stack up to 60K until this hand ...

I raise to 2200 with 99 UTG and i get 2 callers. Flop is 9c 6c 4c. I lead for 4800, first player calls, and next player shoves for 26K total. I'm never folding here, and i get my chips in there and other player calls also. They show Ac Qs, and Kc 8c. I boated up on the river to pick up the early chip lead at around 125K. At the first dinner break, i had 158K in chips, the closest i heard of was at 90K.

I kept chipping up without show down to 180K, then i would lose a race for about 30K and start over, i did it 3 times until i finally won a race.

This is the biggest hand of my tournament.

My stack is at 225K, and i raise to 11K with Qd 10c at blinds 2K- 4K and get called by the BB who has a big stack. Flop is Qc 5d Qs, he checks and i bet 18K, he raises to 68K. At this point, he either has somekind of pair, maybe a 5 or a Q. I think that if i shove here, he's only calling if he has me crushed or if he's setup himself and has a worst Q. If he's on a total bluff, he will shove his last 65K ish on the turn in probably hopping he can bluff me off. If he's got me beat, well, he doubles up and i get cold decked. So i decide to flat call to make sure i get his chips where i can have him almost dead on the turn. Turn is 6c, he shoves and i snap call. He shows 9c 5c. River is 7c for a flush. That pot would have brought my stack to about 380K in chips when i was already the chip leader at the start of the hand. Thats just to show how much of a chiplead i would have. The next biggest stack on my table was about 50K and i was already running them over.

I finished 15th. Kinda pist at myself for not shoving when i should have, but still happy with the start.

I went on to bust about 80th in the 200 the next day when i got really short. Busted real early in the 6 max on a total bluff with K high when the other guy flopped 2 pair on a 7 4 2 flop rainbow. I then got coolered with JJ vs QQ in the blinds at the 200 - 400 blind level and i only had about a 8 K stack vs a 5K stack. I ended up making a sick shove vs a guy on tilt who raised UTG with 2c 3c and I insta shoved with Ks Js because i knew i was so ahead of his range but he flushed on my 2 pairs.

I then busted 37th in the 500 ME. I played really solid all day, making plays. I only had 2 big hands all day, the rest was all making plays and stealing with position. Bust hand was K 7 in the BB when i check raised a 8 7 6 flop from a button limper, he had 8 7 and i missed.

The next tournament was like the first tourney, and i got my chips up early with alot of small pots. Got my stack to 37K until this hand. Cut off limps(once he limps, he never folds) button limps(old man, new to the table), SB limps(always limps and ends up folding to my raises), i look down at Ks Jd, now this is ahead of the first limpers range, and i don't mind gambling with an A 10 or something like that. I decide to make it 2200 more at the 300 - 600 and the original limper goes all in for 4100 total, button calls and i call. Flop is Js 10d 9d, i bet 5K and the button shoves for like 13K more, I decide to gamble for a huge pot, and if i lose, i'm about the starting stack and not in horrible shape. Button shows As Jx and other guy shows AxAx no diamonds, so i got Kings, Q's and back door diamonds, i brick everything and would have been around 70K. Instead, back to 20K.

I grinded my 10BBs for about 3 hours making different kinds of steals with stop and go's without ever getting called. When we got down to 3 tables, i was down to about 5.5BBs when i was UTG and decided to SHOVE BLIND, i did the Fake look and shoved it in, and i got called and the player says "your way ahead", i then proceeded to respond, "i have no clue what i have" he shows 9c 10c, and i show ...... AA. WOW Flop is Kc 7c 9s, turn Jx river blank and i hold up.

I get my stack to 240K until this hand, I raise to 44K at 8K- 16K with AA from cut off, button calls and he has me covered by about 40K. Flop is Qs 10d 5s, I decide to make a big bet to price out the flush draw and to make any pair believe i have AK and maybe push me in for the rest of my stack, so i bet 100K when i have just 200K left, so half my stack into about a 130K pot, he thinks for a long time and finally puts me in with KQ, i call, Turn Q, river brick .... I bust 24th when top 20 cash, and worst of all, i would of had over 500K in chips and would have been CL or really close to it. The tournament was so weak, there was 2 players that were aggressive, the rest were really passive.

Maybe next time i can run good late in theses things.

Vegas Day 2

So we get up late, get some food and head to Bellagio for some Cash game. I played one of my best sessions in a while and you can correct me if i'm wrong, but i think i made alot of good decisions.

Haven't really played a hand until i pick up QQ in late position with 5 limpers. The table has been calling raises for large multi-way pots, and i think i wanna disguise my hand if i hit, so i decide to limp in. BB makes it 30 total, and to my surprise, we get 2 other callers, one in the SB and other in middle position. Flop is 7d 4d 2c. Pot is about 140$ and the BB bets 100$. Now i know he could be doing that with JJ 10 10, 99, 88 and i'm pretty sure he will slow down if i call. (Ive played with him numerous times in Vegas, seems to be at my table everytime i play at Bellagio) so i call and the SB shoves all in for 300$ and BB snap calls and i snap fold. What a waste. They show KK in the BB and 44 in the SB. I think i pretty much lost min there. Maybe i call something big preflop and fold the flop, or maybe i save everything after a flop like that.

I'm still in and thats what counts, I reload back up to 400 ish.

Couple limpers and a total donk raises to 10$ and right away, i think he has AA or KK or maybe QQ and i call on the button with Ad 10d. Pot is 6 handed and the flop is Qd Jd 5s. I can taste it now, crack thoses big pairs please. Preflop raiser makes it 30 and i'm the only caller, i know he's huge, so theres no point of raising and being forced to get it all in. Turn is my perfect card, Kh. He can't put me on A 10 but he can put me on flush draw. He now bets 20$. I think right away that he has KK and thats why he's doing that. I decide to make it only 65$ more into pot of about 160$ and he calls. River is 10c. He checks and i go all in hoping that he might call with KK thinking theres no way i have an ace. I go all in for 240 or something and he snap calls with AA.

I limp in early position with 66 and the BB makes it 20$ and we end up being HU. Flop is Qd 10d 2c, he bets 25$, i call. Usually he bets huge when he has something, so i don't think he's got a huge hand. Turn is 3h, he bets 25$, i call. River 2h, he bets 25$, i call, he shows Ah 5h for nothing.

Middle position makes it 10$ bunch of callers and i call in SB with 8s 9s. Flop is 10s 5s 4h and its checked around. Turn is Kh. I check and theres a bet of 20$ with 2 callers. I think both late position callers would have bet with a spade flush draw on flop, so i decide to call. River is Js. I lead for 75$ into pot of about 140$ and get called by A Q. Ship the decent sized pot.

I look down at KK on the button after some limpers, i make it 25$ to go, SB and BB call, and 1 more caller. Pot 110$. Flop is Qd 10h 2d. SB bets 45$, he's been doing that with like AQ and KQ in theses kinds of spots, so thats what i think he has. He hasn't been betting draws at all, so i'm pretty sure he has 1 pair only. i call with another player. Pot is now 245$. Turn is 8c, he bets 100$, other player folds and i decide to call aslong as no Q K or A comes on River. River is 9h. He bets 100$ again and i call, he shows AA. WOW so pist, i read him for one pair and i'm right, just that he has the only stupid pair that beats me.

I decide not to reload, i got about 300 left. I look down at KcKs again in late position and i raise to 25 again with 3 callers. Pot about 100$. Flop is 10d 2c 4c. Checked around to me and i bet 70$. I get called by a pretty donkey player. I put him on probably somekind of flush draw or maybe a 10. I really don't think i'm beat, i think he would raise me. Turn is Qh. He checks and i decide that if he's drawing, he's gonna have to call everything, so i go all in for 205$, he snap calls with Q 10 ... GG me

I love running good in Vegas !!! LOL

Vegas Day 1

We got here, we are in Vegas and it feels great to be back. We landed and we had our Limo driver waiting for us with our names on a paper like we see in the movies so that was pretty sharp to come to. I was all excited until the doors open and it was freezing. It feels worse then Ottawa.

So we get here and decide to have a some food and start it off with a little tourney at PH for 60$ with about 35 peoples in it. This is when i start running like God.

My chips have been up and down, we are down to about 14 and i have 10BBs and in the BB. UTG limps for 400, middle position limps and SB limps and i check with 4d 3d(no antes). Sometimes i might wanna push but they are calling anything, if they limp, they get it all in preflop with like any2 cards. Flop comes 4s 4h 8s. Now this is an awesome flop for me and its checked around. Turn, i check again and UTG bets 1000, lady pushes all in for 2800 and i can't fold my hand, so i get it in. Lady shows Ah Qc for nothing, and UTG shows Ks 4c. River 3h BINK.

This is where i started running bad. HAHAHA

No big hands, FT, top 7 get money, 8 left, SB completes, and i have like 8 BBs and check with 10 4o.(I know i should push but with no antes, not worth as much) Flop 10 9 2 rainbow, he bets 3000 and i shove for 13 000 more. He calls with 10 7. I bust

We decide to play cash game at Bellagio, some 2-5NL. My table is really tight and not much is happening. I get into a couple small pots, win some small pots and i'm controlling the size of the pots. I just have a fun bust out hand when i sorta play like a retard.

I was about even until this hand. I limp middle position with 7h 5h and a couple more limpers behind, BB makes it 30 total. I call thinking others will call but they all fold. Flop comes Kh 10s 9d. He comes out and bets 45$. I know he could be C-betting so i decide to float with nothing really, but i really like that board to float because he can't really put me on any drawing hand. Turn brinds 6d. Now i have gut shot. He thinks for abit and decides to bet 90$. Now I think that he doesn't dislike his hand, but i don't think he's that strong and if i shove here, he has to give me credit for a big hand because theres no draw, and if i did have 7 8, i would have hit. So i shove my last 225$ in(he has the same amount of chips). Pot is around 550$ range so he's getting 2 to 1.(he has been playing for a while and seems like a player that can fold hands.) He tanks forever and finaly calls, river blank ... GG me. Oh, he shows As Kd.

I WILL NOT MAKE PLAYS IN CASH GAMES, I WILL NOT MAKE PLAYS IN CASH GAMES, I WILL NOT MAKE PLAYS IN CASH GAMES.

We went back to the room for food and 20 min nap and head to Ceasers for 120$ tourney. The tourney is nuts. We start with 80 BB's and the first 6 hands of the tourney someone gets all in pretty much preflop on the flop. The pots are almost always 3- 4 way all ins. We busted like 7 players on our table in the first hour. The tourney had about 50 players. I pretty much didn't play any hands and as i was getting re raised and shoved on everytime i raised with AQ, 10 10. The thing about people shoving is that they showed AA, AK, KK, QQ like all the time.

I get down to 2200 in chips and its 100 - 200 with 25 ante. UTG + 2 limps, next player limps, next limps, and i look down at Qs 10s. I might be able to steal over 1000 in chips if they fold, and if i get called, i like my hand to gamble. I shove and everyone folds until last limper who calls with Qd Jd ... WTF ... Flop is majical, 10h 8s 6s, turn 9s, river brick. I stay pretty even, stealing some blinds. Level is now 200 - 400 with 50 ante, folded around to button who limps and i loop at Qc 7c and complete, BB checks. Flop Qh Jd 5s. I bet 1000, button calls. Now i got about 3800 left and turn is Qd, I check to let him try to bluff me and it works perfect, he shoves, i snap call. He shows As 10c for gutter ball. You guessed it, K on river. GG me

Then i got smashed with Lacasse at Paris. So i'm down 700$ range after day one. Not too worried.

Cash Games on Online MTTs, Vegas in Jan

Well, its a new year and i'd like to say that my profit for this year is just about the same thing as last year. I'm up in the area of 15K for the second year. Now i know this has been said quite abit, but i'm thinking of quitting poker(not actually quitting but its almost like quitting when your playing one day a week compared to 24/7). I haven't been playing too much lately and i'm enjoying other things in life which feels good to get out there and do it. I'm trying to master this Guitar Hero 3 thing but i'm getting pretty frustrated and trying to Master 10 pin bowling.

As for cash games and such, i got a couple hands that i played the last time i visited a casino near by.

The player to my right makes it 25$ UTG and i call with A Q and we get a couple more calls. Pot is about 130$. Flop comes As Ac 10d. Pre-flop raiser makes it 30, i call. A decent player makes it 100 total to go and its folded back to me. Now usually, I would always just flat call here and let him fire the turn and hope he doesn't hit his kicker. I'm 95% sure that he has an ace and 100% sure he doesn't have AK. He could have A 10 which would suck, but i would get my money in anyways. Lately, i've kinda lost confidence in people missing their 3 outters, so i decide to make it 125$ more with about 200$ more behind. He tanks and finally folds an ace.(so he says)

Couple hands later, i'm in early position and a limper UTG and i call with AhKh, everyone calls raises and i don't really feel like playing out of position so i just flat call. Button makes it 20 and BB goes all in for 35. The pot is 4 handed but one guy all in so 3 handed and pot is about 150$. Flop is 10h Js 5d. We check to button who makes it 65$ to go. Now this is a player that semi bluffs alot. He could have anything. I call with my 2 overs and gut shot. I think i'm good if either of those come. The turn was a 3h to give me a flush draw on top of it. He now bets 200 and has about 250$ behind. Now usually he goes all in with nothing and i think that if he had nothing, he would have gone all in. Stupid me, my read is that he ain't folding, so if i wanna call, pot of about 300, 200$ bet, and 250$ behind. Makes my 200 call worth about 750 with implied odds. And i can fold if i miss everything. Well stupid me, i go all in just in case he had nothing, i brick the river and he shows J 10.

I reloaded and later got into a pot where i limped in middle position with 9h 7h after a couple peoples limped. SB makes it 25 to go and we all call. 5 handed, pot 125ish. Right before the flop comes out, a player says, i can't say it in english but "Ocho" and i believed him. Flop come Kh 9s 6s. Pre-flop raiser is in SB and bets 30$, Ocho guy calls and another guy calls, and i call because i know i beat of the guys that called. Turn is Ah. The SB guy bets 100 and they fold to me, i know he could be bluffing so i take a chance with my pair and flush draw and shove my last 200$ in the pot, he snap calls and the river is Jc. He says, "your good" i respond with "your good", he says "no, i'm pretty sure your good" i say, "well, i got a 9" and he mucks.

This is probably the last interesting pot i played. I'm about 900 deep so i limp alot and play hands post flop because you can get paid .... anyways, i limp with Kh Jh and its folded to button who calls and blinds check. Flop comes Ah 10d 7s, its checked to me and i bet 15$ thinking the blinds have nothing and i can take this down because i know the buttons range is pretty wide when limping from there and its folded to BB who calls. Now i'm pretty sure he doesn't have an Ace because he would have bet it. I think he either has something like KQ, KJ, QJ or like a 10 or 7. Turn is 3d. He checks again, now i think i can make him fold a 10 or 7 if i fire again, so i bet 40$ into a pot of 50$. He calls again. Now i'm not too sure whats going on. River is a Ks. He fires 100$. Now for how the hand is played and what i put him on, I would think i'm best here. I'm 90% he doesn't have an Ace unless he had AA which is highly unlikely. I think for abit, and i see a tell that i kinda noticed that he did alot when he had big hands. I remembered at least 3 occasions where he had monsters and was doing the same thing. I decide to fold thinking he had QJ and got there or maybe a set or something like that. He showed me K 10 for 2 pairs which made alot of sense.

As for MTTs, i haven't had anything go my way in a while now, I haven't had a score since Nov 6th and i made an FT not too long ago. Finish 8th or 7th, i forget how much i got, but i wasn't happy. I'm laying off MTTs for a little while, probably only going to play Sundays and Monday's.

I'm also going to Vegas next week and I'm starting to get pumped. I'm not sure if i wanna mostly play tourneys or cash. Hopefully i can play a couple tournaments and get off to a good start this time and support myself for the week. My last visit to Vegas, i said i was going to maybe take a shot at the 5 - 10NL game if i got off to a hot start because every time i go to Bellagio, it always seems really soft. I wanna take a stab at it. I hope i can be up 2 -3K early and take a shot at it.

I will report hands later(if i'm not too lazy), hope you enjoyed.

Later ....

Turning Stone 300 Tourney, 500 - 6 max

So, i decide to go in TS and play the deepstack tourneys. The last time i was here, i didn't really get anything going, and really didn't feel that confident about how i played. Yesterday was a totally different thing. I started off the day on a table where pretty much nothing happen for the first 2 hours. I got up to 12K, then back down to 10K, and stayed pretty steady for a while. I really didn't pick up anyhands. This is the only interesting one in the early levels.

Blinds 50 - 100, UTG limps(old man that limps alot), other guy limps, i look down at 4c 6c on the button, and limp, blinds limp. Flop comes 2d 4d 5c. Goes check check, UTG bets 200. Gets to me and I call, the rest fold. Turn 2s, He bets 200 again, so i call. River is 3d and he bets 500. I actually thought about this for abit, i fealt i had the best hand, but i guess he could do that with somekind of flush draw. On top of that, he's probably not calling me with anything i beat, i decide to call. He shows Ah 5h.

Now i get moved to another table and i haven't played a hand in about 5 rotations. I called once in the blinds with 66 after a raise and 3 callers. mucked the flop.

This hand comes up, 100 - 200 blinds, 25 ante. Early position raiser, tight player raises to 550, folds to me in the SB, and i call with 8h 8d. Guy in the big blind(steaming big time) calls. Flops comes out 7d 4d 2d. Now theres the about 1700 in the pot, and i want to find out if the preflop raiser has a big pair, so i bet 975, if i get raised by preflop raiser, i'm folding. BB shoves for 1000 more, so i obv call. He shows 7c 5d. In pretty good shape with a bigger pair and a bigger flush draw. Turn 7. River 3s. He wins. So now i'm down to 7K and i decide, if i wanna go deep in this, i gotta start making some moves because i'm not picking up hands.

The player to my right is a sick online player Agame18, or something like that. I know who he is, but he has no idea i know who he is. I use this to my advantage and i know he's going to be stealing blinds. Next hand is dealt and its folded to him, he makes it 550 to go, i said to myself, i'm re-raising here with any2 because i haven't raised a pot for like 1.5 hours and he has to respect me and he had been folding to re raises pre. I look down at Qh 8d and i make it 1325 to go. He snap folds, and i pick up the 1000 extra that i lost against the steaming guy.

Next rotation, still the same blinds, a guy thats been raising alot and seems to be kinda nervous, maybe playing a little out of his bankroll makes it 600, a guy thats been calling alot calls and the player on the button, if he had a big hand would raise there all the time, from what i had seen. I had like 8500 in chips and I decided that i'm chipping up in this spot, picking up 2000 chips. I look down at Ad Jh which makes it a little easier, i make it 2900 total. They all fold and the initial raiser says, your hand has to be better then 10 10.

Next hand i play, same guy raises to 600 UTG, UTG+1 calls, and i call with Kd Qd on the button, BB calls also. Flop comes Ah Jc 6s, they all check really quick and i bet 1550 into about 2500 and they all fold. UTG +1 says, "worst played Kings ever"

Now i've been raising maybe once or twice by rotation and pretty much taking it down preflop, and just making a follow up bet and winning. I get dealt 5c 6s and the player that raises alot, but doesn't call alot(doesn't really protect his blinds is in BB) so i pick on him and raise to 1125 at 200 - 400 blinds with 50 ante. This time he decides to call. Flop comes out 10c 9s 2h. He check to me, i bet 1775 and he thinks and calls. Turn is Ad. Just by the look on his face, i can tell he doesn't like the card, and i'm thinking he called me with like something like J 9 and he put me on AK, AQ. Now the pot is about 6000 and he checks nad i bet 3800. He folds and very frustrated.

The next hand i played, tight player raises 3 spots from the blinds to 1100 (same blinds as previous hand) same player that was calling alot before calls again, and i look down at Qc Jc in the BB and call 700 more. Flop comes Ah Ad 5c. Now, i know that i might want to take a stab on this pot on the turn if no1 bets the flop. I take about 5 seconds shuffling my chips and decide to check my Ace(thats what i want to make them think). They both check pretty quick. Turn is 7h. I fire out 1350 into the pot of about 3800 and they both fold.

Next hand i played, well didn't really play it, but i've been giving away my blinds pretty easy, because i don't really need to get too involved because i'm getting away with everything at this table. Even though, i would consider 3 players, really good players. So a good player raises my BB for like hte 3rd rotation in a row. Blinds 250 - 500, 75 ante. He hasn't really been re raised at all when raising blinds of people, he raises 1500, and i look down at Js 5c and decide to take a stand and stop him from raising my blind, i raise to 4100 and he folds right away.

I don'T know if you noticed, but i showed 1 hand during this whole time, and built my stack from 7K to 24K without showdown, and without really making a hand. Now i know this doesn't always work out, but i must say it fealt pretty good to be in this spot without showing down anything.

The next hand i played, is when the BB is sitting out, at 300- 600 blinds, 75 ante. I'm UTG, and i raised to 1600 with Ad 9d. I know i might get played back at, but i'm taking 1675 if i get lucky and no1 picks up anything. It gets to a shorter stack and he thinks for abit, a few seconds and shoves it in. It folds back to me, my read on him when he shoved was that he wasn't very strong, and that he was making the shove light because the BB was sitting out and he probably identified that i was stealing alot. So the pot is 1675 + 1600 + 1600 ... roughly 4900 and he shoves for 7000 more. I know A 9 is not a big hand here, but from my read, i didn't think he would of even thought about shoving with AK AQ. I just don't think he has me dominated. He would obv snap shove with 9's and up. I'm thinking he probably has something like KQ or a small pair.(I just had a very stong gut feeling) So i call, and he show 55. I win the race and i'm up to about 34000.

The very next hand, a tight player that hasn't raised in Ages raises to 1600 and i look down at Ad Qd. Now, i'm never folding this for 1000 more in the BB. He has about 8000 behind. I start thinking of the posibilities and decide to raise it up, i know i'm pricing myself in, i'm just hoping he has something like JJ and lower, or just using his image to fold(i actually fealt that i was beat, but couldn't put myself to folding AQ preflop, this is probably the only hand of the day where i really didn't feel comfortable with my play, i wish i would have folded preflop, but that would just be too sick.)He goes all in and show QQ, flop is Jc 8d 7d. Now that i see this flop, theres no doubt in my mind that i was putting this guy all in on the flop, when i have 2 overcards to the board with a flush draw. I missed and he doubles, and i'm right back down to 24 000 ish.

Pretty soon after, the table breaks and i get moved into Fishbones old seat where he just busted about 5 minutes ago.

He talks to me about the players at the table, so that i knew what was going on when i sat down. I sit down, and i put this info to use right away. I pick up Kc Jd in the cut off and make is 2100 at 400 - 800 blinds, 100 ante. SB calls and the rest fold. The flop is Ks 9d 2d. He leads for 3000 and has 4775 behind. Adam had just told me that he had never seen this player lead without having it. Now i go in the tank and try to figure out if this guy would flat call with AK or KQ in that spot. He's an old man, and i know they don't really raise that much with AK, so after being in the tank for a minute or so, i said "sorry guys, this is a big lay down" and i showed my K J and everyone just lost their minds when the old man showed AK. I guess he wanted to tell me i was sick. After having the info i had though, i'm not that sick.

The next hand, a lady joins the table, and usually a lady is pretty tight, and i pick up XX UTG + 1, and i make it 2100. The player with the big stack at the table, insta raises to 6100 without really thinking about it. He looked weak to me, and Adam told me that this guy, if he notices you raise alot, will re raise you. I put all this info together, and it got back to me and I shoved it all in. Now the pot, with his 6100, my 6100 and the antes and blinds is about 14400 and i'm pushing 17900 more for him to call. I knew that i had enough to not give him 2 to 1. He goes in the tank and finally tosses 20 000 in the pot(he had about 30 000 more left behind) while turning his head. I said, "i really thought you were re raising me weak" he responds "i was", then i said, "do you have a pair", he says "no", so i said, well, coin flip, he shows 6s 7s. I show 3 3. I think this was a rediculous call. Board comes out 8 10 J, so he has 2 overs with the gut shot, turn is 7. Im now looking for the 9 to chop, but i mise.

GG me. I really think i played really really good. The hands that i posted here are pretty much everything i played. I didn't post a hand when i raise with K 9 and hit a K Q J flop and get the auto fold on the follow up bet. I think thats almost the only flop i hit.

This day was a little crazy, i didn't pick up AK once, i had KK early and i took the blinds at 25 -50, did the same thing with QQ at same blind level. My biggest pair was 88 for the rest of the day, and i limped once with 55 and folded after missed flop. I finish about 70th out of about 240 peoples. This is just to say that i'm really confident in my game at this point, and can't wait to get back on the tables.

The 2nd tournament last about 20 minutes for me when i couldn'T lay down a big hand like a donkey.

UTG makes it 150 at the FIRST blind level, i wake up with Kc Kh, and make it 400 to go, and UTG calls. Flop comes Kd Qs 9c, He checks, i bet 550 into 875, he makes it 1550. Now at this point, i say to myself, does he raise J 10 UTG, and would he check raise with the absolute nuts on a rainbow board. May i remind you, we are playing 5 handed. So i call the 1000 more. Turn is 7c. He bets 2500. I think for abit. I say to myself, it looks more and more like he has the straight, but he could have like KQ or 99 and be playing it like that. Who knows, he could have QQ and just flatted there preflop. I say to myself, well, if he has it, he has it. If he doesn't, i'll let him bet on the river. I call, river is 6s. He goes all in for 6000, well i have 5500 left out of my 10 000 starting stack. I question myself if he would do that with with the staight, or would he bet like 2500 - 3000 just to make sure i call. I call, and he shows Jd 10d. I'm done.

GG me ... let me know what you think of that last one. Kinda weird one. I must say that my gut was telling me to fold, but i said to myself, if he doesn't have it, i have a big stack early and i can take advantage and play aggresive and probably build a nice stack early instead of grinding my stack up for hours and busting around 9 hours of playing and not cashing. Not that it would happen, but chances are, thats going to happen since theres only 15 peoples cashing out of 170. On the bright side, i finished in 1rst, 170 out of 170. HAHAHAH

Until next time ...
