LAPT Mexico

Hey there,

Like most of you have already heard, I was playing in the LAPT Mexico event that was held this weekend in Puerto Vallarta.

I was down to 5K before the first break,(starting stack 10K) by missing a pair flush draw on the flop, open ended flush draw on the flop, and then a double gut flush draw on the turn after the flop was checked. I finally hit a flush draw, after the guy bet 600 on every street and i was drawing to the nut flush draw. From then on, i chipped up nicely all the way up to 13K at the first break.

I Kept chipping up well, picking on 3 really bad players that could be 1, the tightest player i've played with in a tournament, 2. the weakest player i've played with in a tournament, and 3. the dumbest player (after 4 level of antes, 1 hour levels, he still didn,t know he had to ante) So i mostly picked up small pots from theses guys whenever they played a pot because if they didn't flop top pair, they would fold, and player 1. would fold an over pair. Then, i got and pro sent to my table and i thought this was going to be a long day now. I was on table 13, seat 3 and guess who comes and fills up table 13, seat 4, it was none other then this pro called Marc Karam aka Myst(You guys might have heard of him before). I knew i was in for a tough day now since our table wasn't breaking anytime soon. He didn't stay long because he busted in a huge pot about 8 hands later.(oops) I finished the next 2 levels with 19K in chips and really looking good. I was just controlling the table, and the players that could put resistance, were really short, so i was happy about my situation.

I came back after break, and got into this pot when the super weak player limped UTG for 300, I then made it 1150 to go with AT trying to isolate and taking the pot down with most flops with a C-bet. But then, a player moved all in for 2200 more. With roughly 5300 in the pot, and costing me 2200 to call, for about 13% of my stack, i decided to gamble. He ended up having QQ. I was looking good after the AA4 flop, but then the Q on the turn crushed me, and the Q on the river finished it. It wasn't a huge pot, but it would have put me right up around 25K, but now i'm down to 17K which is still in good shape. I played a pot from the button with a new player to the table that basically raised 4 pots out of 10. I floated the flop and tried to take it down on the turn, but he called and i gave up. He had AK on an A J 9 9 2 board. So now down to 12K ish.

I'm in the BB with just over 9K now and a player limps early position, a player that limps everyhand, and the next players shoves it in with 4450 at the 200 - 400 level. ( this is a player that knows what he's doing, and the player i doubled up when he had Qs.) I look down at AdKx in the BB and reshove.
He has 88, Board comes Jd Jx 7d, turn 5d, river 5x. So now i'm down to about 5K.
2 hands later, when i'm on the button, a player raises to 1200, a player with a big stack is thinking for a while if he wants to call, and finally calls, i look down at 99, and figure i'm either racing or better against the player that made the call, so i shove in 4800. Initial raiser folds and the other player calls and tables Ax Tx, i have 9s9x. Flop comes 6s 7s Jx, turn As, River 4x.

Well, it was fun, i just couldn't win an all in. Same story as most my live tournaments. Oh well, maybe next time.
