First few sessions back home

Well, i've been home for about 4 days now, and i played 3 nights. My first night back i finished +400, 2nd session i finish -300$ and my last one, last night was - 1000$. Last night i must have played my worst session of all time. It was horrible, always getting involved in hands i shouldn't even see the flop with and ending up getting a piece and getting all my chips in behind and not catching up.

Here are a couple hands from some session in Vegas that i forgot about and some hands from session in the last week.

This was in Vegas, and i picked up Ad 5d in last position and limped into a straddled pot. There was 1 other limper in the pot and the SB and BB completed. I think we were 5 total making the pot 50$. The flop came out Qd 4c 5s. Its checked around to me and i have position so i bet 35$. I had been making alot of bets in position when it was checked around to me. The guy that stradled came out and raised me 35$ more. I thought he was trying to demonstrate a little strenth and maybe had like a weak Q and wanted to see how strong i was. Everyone else folded and i insta called thinking i could get him off his hand on the turn. Turn card came 2d. He made a 100$ bet, but he really seemed uncomfortable doing it, and took him like atleast 10 seconds to put it in. I was getting low stacked and thought that if i was right and he was weak, i could get him to fold, so i pushed in 150$ more to him to call right away and he thought about it for a second and folded.(I also suspect this player was stealing alot of pots when he thought the people were weak.) He folded and said he had 4 5. So he had a weak 2 pairs but i would really thought i would have gotten called by that. When the turn came out, i thought i still had alot of outs if he did have a weak Q or like a 4 5 like he claims to have had.

I played this hand when i got back to Ottawa, playing 1-3 NL. UTG raised to 23$ and i got KK 2 seats down and make it 60$ total. Its folded around and the player moves in for 300$ total. This player alwyas moves in when he has the nuts, i was pretty close to folding but i remember this guy really over playing AK like that before. I could see him making that move with Q's too. So i think he makes that move with A's, A K and Q's ... I can beat 2 of those so i had to call. He showed 9's and K's held up.

Later on that night, the player UTG says'' this game is just bingo, fuck it, i'm going 40$ blind." Of course, i'm next and i pick up As Ks, so i call. Folded around to the BB, (player with the 9's) and he calls also and shows his hand to his buddy sitting next to him. Flop comes out Kd 8h 6h. They both check to me. The pot is 120$ so i bet 100$ and the BB moves in for 145$ more to me. The blind player folds and i call imediatly thinking, at worst we have the same hand, although i would never see him checked that hand on the flop. If he had flop a set he would have pushed all in right away. I'm thinking he's on a flush draw and i just need to dodge hearts. He turns over A 8, no heart. So he's got 2 outs and the turn comes an 8. And he tells me, '' i had to go get those chips you took from me earlier'' i was tempted to say he gave them to me and tried to do it again, but i wanted him to keep on doing it, so i didn'T say anything.

That same night, i played this hand pretty bad. I limp UTG with Qc 10c. Couple limpers for 3$ and the Button raises to 30$. Pretty solid player. I called thinking other people would call.(wasn't liking the call) But everyone else folded. Flop came out 2d 3h 10s. So now i have a 10 and i want to find out if he actually has a big pair so i bet out 40$ into a pot of maybe 66$. He makes it 80$ total. I guess i overthink sometimes because i was thinking he was trying to find out where i was with his AK or something like that. So i called 40$ more. Turn came a 4c. I came out betting 100$ because i thought he might have AK after that 40$ raise, but i really thought he had a big pair preflop. Anyways, this is why i played the hand so bad, i couldn't make a decision what to put him on. He then goes all in for 110$ more. I estimated that the pot was about 550$ and i had to call 110$. He even showed me his KK. I'm not sure if i consider how he played it good, i guess its good because he got me to put more chips in the pot. I know i'm not getting the odds, but i just fealt that if i lose this pot, and call, i,ll be down 100$for the night and not be in horrible shape, the game is pretty easy and if i don't get really unlucky i can make it back. But if i win, i'm up over 500$ for the night, and this player tilts abit when he gets bad beat from my experience of playing with him, so i figured if i win, it will be good for the action in the game also. So i gambled and missed.

Later on, i'm staying pretty steady, up to about 215$ , so down 85 for the night. I pick up AA in pretty early position and make in 20$ total. Everyone folds to the BB(same guy as last hand) and he makes it 50$ total. Right away i put him on Jacks or better so i just flat call so that i can get another bet out of him if he has an over pair to the board and also to not show too much strenght. Flop comes out pretty good, 5d 6d 8c. He comes out betting 50$. I take a little bit of time, a little acting, showing that i'm not too sure, and move in for 115$ more. He thinks about it for abit and calls with QQ. Turn 10, river Q. Thats all folks.

I limp in the cut off with Qs 10s and the SB makes it 18$ total(1-3 NL) and 3 peoples call making the pot just about 90$ with my call. Flop comes out Ah Kh Jd. The SB checks and the BB makes a 50$ bet. Its folded around to me, i think he either has a 2 pairs or somekind of flush draw or straight draw, not too sure, but i think i'm ahead, and i wouldn't mind taking the pot down right now. So i make it 100$ more to him. He only has 150$ left behind and after thinking about it for a while, he moves in. He has K J and a J comes on the river.

Couple hands later agains the same guy, i resucked on him, i don't remember the betting so much, but he had K 5(his hand should have been mucked preflop since he was not at the table and the dealer called for him in the SB.) and the flop was K 5 6. I have KQ and he check raised the flop and bet the turn, and i moved in for the little chips i had left. I think he made it like 40$ on the flop and bet 70$ on the turn and i had like 110$ left. Turn was a J and river came out a Q. I just thought he might of had 2 pairs, but i still thought i still had decent outs. I thought he might also do that with KQ thinking that he had the best kicker, or maybe even K J. Knowing that he had K 5, i had any Q, any 6 and any J to win. Still 9 outs so just about 20%. Not the worst shape i could be in.

I picked up 8d 9d in middle position and i think the SB raised it to 15$ total. BB called, and the button called. Flop came out 10c 9s 3h. Blinds checked and i bet out 35$ into 60$ pot. Button called and SB called. Turn came Ac. SB check, i checked and the button bet out 50$. SB folded and i thought about it for a second, i thought the button had somekind of draw, like QJ and since i checked the turn, he took control of the hand. I know this guy is capable of a move like that. So i called. River came a 5h. I checked again and the button bet out 100$ and i insta called. He showed Kc Jc.

I picked up 6s 9s in late postion in a limped pot. The flop came out 3s 6c 7c. A really loose player bets out 10$ into a 18$ pot and i called, 1 other player called. Turn came the 8s. So now i have a huge draw and the same player comes out betting 30$ this time, i call thinking that if i get a 5, a Spade, a 9 or 10 i'm good. I'm giving him something like A 7. I give him the 7, so he can't have a flush draw except for maybe the spade draw, but i would call his bet if i hit a flush. So the river comes a 9c. He bets out 100$. Since i put him on a pair of 7's, with the 7c on the board, he can't have flush, and i don't think he has 5 or 10 even though theres no way or knowing that. I just said to myself that those are the outs i was giving me on the turn, i have to go threw with it. So i called, and i was good. He mucked his hand which made me think that he might have been bluffing the whole way. Usually he would show when he got beat on the river.

First hand i play all night, i pick up Ah Kh in middle position and make in 15$. I get 3 callers. The flop comes out 7c 7h 3s. Its checked around and i come out betting 45$ and the last player raises me 65$ more making it 110$ total. If i re raise, my all in would be a 125$ more. I looked at him while he was putting the chips in and he didn'T have the same confidence as when he had 2 pairs earlier and i really thought he was weak, but he could have like 5 5 and be a little nervous about the play and still call me thinking i have AK. I was really close to pushing my chips in and making him call because i really didn't think he had the 7. I couldn't go threw with it and folded. He showed 8c 2c. This player made a nice read, and i think i did an even better read, but reads are pointless if you don't trust them i guess. Let me know what you think of this one guys .... if you get to reading this one.

I call 10$ with Ah 9h on the button with everyone folding ahead of me to the straddle. SB and BB complete and the straddle makes it 50$ total. This player does this all the time so i call. Usually i would wait to have a better hand in this spot to do this, but i got some chips and i think i can outplay him if the flop seems right. The SB folds and BB calls. So 160$ in the pot. Flop comes Ac 6c 2c. The straddler comes out betting 75$, and i make it 175$ total thinking i have the best hand. BB folds, and straddler really doesn't look that strong to me and looks like he's folding and then decides to raise me another 100$. We get into alot of confrontation, me and this player and i have a feeling he might just have a flush draw or just trying to make a move on me, just like i'm trying to make a move on him. So i decide that i think i have the best hand right now, and make it 375$ more to him to call. He calls almost instantly and shows 9c 7c. Not good, almost drawing dead. Turn comes a 4, river 4. No help.

I picked up 10d 5d(yes this is ugly) maybe a little bit of a tilt, couple hands after that Ah 9h. The player ahead of me makes it 10$ total and i call and we end up being 5 players who put in 10$ each, so 50$ in the pot. Flop comes out Jd 3d 4s. Its checked around and i bet 35$ with my flush draw trying to maybe take it down there if everyone missed. I get 1 caller. Turn comes a 10c. He checks to me and i bet out 60$ this time. He then goes all in for 110$ more. The pot is now about 340$ and i think if i catch my 10 i'm probably good, i just don't know what he could have. I'm pretty sure if i hit my flush i'm good so i call. He had 3 3. Not good. I missed.

I pick up Ah 10h in middle position and theres a couple limpers. The BB makes it 25$ more. I call, and 2 other players call, pot is 120$. Flop comes out Ac Qh Jc. I come out betting 50$(i thought about this on the way home, i wasn't even making good bets anymore, i was playing so bad at this point) I get 1 caller. Turn comes 6c. Now i make another bad bet and bet 100$ into a pot of 220$. He still calls. Usually this player would raise me if he had a flush, but he was playing good yesterday and he obviously could tell i wasn't. So when the river came a 2h and i went all in for 180$, he called instantly with 5c 9c. Thats when i quit.

Well those are a couple hands that i played in the last few nights. I think i was really reading the people really good in Vegas and the first few days back. Didn't trust my reads a couple times and cost me. I just need to slow down abit, focus abit more on school and other stuff and i know i will be in better shape to play when i got back. Probably just a little mentaly tired of playing so much in the last couple weeks.

Until next time, Enjoy.

Last night in Vegas

Well, i'm writting this, and i'm going to be taking the plane in about 3 hours. I had a great week and it was filled with alot of different things. I went to see a couple shows, went out to bars almost everynight and visited a bunch of casinos. My last few sessions went like this, +560$, +415$, and -500. Overall, after i spend on food, drinks, hotel, flight, cabs, etc. in Vegas, i finish the week with 2800$ and i got here with 2050$. I guess i can afford to do this kind of thing again.

I'm i seem to be getting lazy, i don't even really feel like writing about hands tonight. Maybe i will feel like it on the plane or the airport. I think i finished the week down about 250$ in tables and other things after a sick run at BJ at the Bellagio like an hour ago. Craziest thing i have ever seen. I never won 2 hands in a row at the Bellagio and i ended up making 150$ playing BJ. I played 50$ on the tables and kept winning the first hand, incressing the bet a little bit and then losing the next one. Eventually, i lost 2 hands in a row and that the only time i ever lost 2 hands in a row at the Bellagio. I actually started to alternate my bets because i was winning one hand, and losing the next. I had 80$ left when I started to play like i would lose 1 out of 2 hands. So i would bet 15$ on hands i would lose, and 30 to 45$ on hands i won. It worked for about 30 hands until i quit. I can't believe it.

Talk to you guys on Sunday

First couple nights in Vegas

Hey guys, Vegas is awesome and i'm having a great time. The first night we got here around 11pm and we visited a couple casino's and checked out a couple poker rooms. We also spent the end of the night at some bar where those 2 guys played piano ... they were fuckin awesome. For poker, i played 3 sessions. I fealt like a hit and run artist but i was really tired when i started playing and i didn't play very long. My 3 sessions are this, 2 hours (+680$), 4 hours (-500), and 4 hours (+720).

I guess i can tell a couple hands in the last few sessions ... i'm not sure if i'm going to remember what session is which, actually, i won't even say it, i will just talk about the hands.

I'll start with a couple hands where i had good reads. I pick up Kh 7h on a pretty tight table and i'm close to even, not in horrible shape. I limp and the cut off raises to 20$ total, and 3 other people call ahead of me. Flop comes out Kc Jh 8d. It's checked around, and i fealt that i would check to see what the preflop raiser would do. He bet out 40$ into 100$ pot. I think it was a weak bet and he looked weak. Everyone else folded and i called. Turn came a 2s. I checked again, he then goes all in for 87$. At this point, i think he would raise more with Aces, K, Q or J's and with A K i think he would probalby go all in for 120$ with 4 other guys in the pot. The only hand that made sense to me was A Q and him putting me on Q 10 or something like that. So i called and saying "I think you have A Q, i call'' ... he shows A Q. River As. I lose the pot.

I complete the straddle out of the SB with As Qh and the BB raises to 45$ total. Everyone folds and i call. At this point, i saw him play A's and K's earlier and his raises were alot friendlier, so i thought Jack's were about right for that raise. Flop came out Ks Qd 4h. I checked and he went all in for 185$. I said to myself that i didn't think this guy would play AK like that. I think he would bet like 75$ and then go for the rest on the turn. I said to him, '' I really think you have Jacks, so i call'' and he responded, '' i guess you have a perfect read'' ... Couple blanks came out and i won the pot.

Pot is raised in Early position to 25$ and i pick up 7 7 on the button and we get 1 other caller. Flop comes out Q 8 9. Check, raiser bets 25$ again, so i call thinking he has A K. Turn comes a 10. I still think i'm good, he check, and i bet 45$ because i had 1145$ left, and there was 45$ on top of my stack .... hahahha .... and i thought 45$ would makin him fold, but he called. Now i have no idea what he has. On the river i get a 7. He checks again, i think i'm good but i don't need to bet because i think i'm getting called or raised by the straight, so i check. He turns over A Q ... oopsidoodle.

I pick up Qs 7d in the BB in a limped pot. Flop comes Qh 4d 5s. Its a limped pot and for some reason i didn't think i was good since the pot was 8 handed, so i check, and its checked around. Turn comes Qd. I bet 40$. I get one caller. River 8d. Everything got there so i check. Solid player bets 100$. I fold and show my Q and get comment from the locals that its a good fold against that player.

I pick up As Kd in middle postion and Limp in. Pot is limped around and flop comes Qs 10s 9c. Its checked around. Turn is my Gin card, Jh. 8 handed, SB comes out betting 35$. I really think he has the King since he has been really tight after and preflop, so i raise it to 135$ to kick out a flush draw. He then decides to move in for just under 300$ total. He shows Ks 8s. Talk about a bad one, he misses and i win the pot.

Well i'm tired, Talk to you guys about some other hands if i feel like it later.

First night in Niagara

Well, for the first night, this was a pretty good one. We got here at around 4 pm. Thats when I first went out to the tables, played about 1 hour at the 1-2 NL game because the 5-5NL was full. I made 120$ in that first hour. Didn't really pick up any hands that i could really do anything with.

The one pot i won, i picked up As 3s in the SB. Pot was limped. Flop came out Ah 8h 2d. I checked and was checked to the button that bet out 25$. I just thought he might have hit second pair and be taking a shot at the pot. Everyone else folded. Turn came 2c. I checked again and he bet out 50$. Now i have 120$ total left, and i don't think he's that strong. If he had a better kicker with an ace he would probably raised pre flop. I just thought either he was on flush draw, and i wanted to get all the chips in now, even if he does have the odds to call so that i can double up. If he has a weak Ace he might fold. So i pushed in for the rest. He thought about it for a while and folded his A 5(so he says).

After dinner, i went to play again and ended up on a 1-2 NL again, for the same reason. This time I made 140$ in the 30 minutes that i was there. The big hand that i picked up was Ac Jc in the cut off. I like to limp those hands, and i did. Flop came out Kc Qc 3c. Other player also had a flush and other player taht had about 25$ left went all in. I got a little more then a double up. Thats all i did.

Then i moved to the 5-5 where i kept picking up decent hands and i fealt like playing hands. First hand i pick up, Folded around the button, he makes it 25$, SB calls, and i call in the BB with Qh 9h. Flop came out 8h 6c 2d. SB checked and i just thought the Button had big cards, so i bet out 50$ and took it down.

Next hand i play, i pick up As 8s in middle position, it was raised from early to 30$ and already 2 callers. We got 2 more callers, making the pot over 150$. Flop came out 10s 5s 4s.(look at these flops, hope their all like that in Vegas) The blind checks and the original raiser bets 60, and theres one caller. This is where i didn't really know what to do, i just didn't want the board to pair, so i decided to make a little raise, just to know a little more what i'm up against. So i made it 180$ total. I'm giving the original raiser Q's or better and i'm just hopping he has a spade and if he has Aces ... well they are Aces. He took his time and folded. Other player folded too. Now i got a little bit of chips.

I pick up Jh 10h in early position and i limp and a strong player raises to 35 total. Theres 1 caller behind making the pot about 110$. Flop comes Jc 8h 7d. I really like this flop but wanted to find out where i stood. I bet out 65$, and the pre flop raiser makes it 165$ to go. I think about it for a second and call. At this point, i suspected that he had a big pair. The next cards comes a 2h. Now i picked up an extra draw. Pot is about 440$. I have 470$ left and i'm thinking that if he bets like 160$ again, i will push over the top and make him make a decision. But then he bet 220$, that makes a raise of 250$, and i don't think its enough to make him fold. I figure i have tons of outs here, about 14 outs. I'm getting about 3 to 1 so i call. River comes a 3d and i check. He then goes all in. I put him on a big pair and folded. He then shows Ah Kd for Ace high.

I made a comeback and finished the night up 420$ at the poker tables and up 200$ at table games thanks to a 60 to 1 pay out at Sic Bo.

It's time for bed now, talk to you guys when i'm in Vegas !!!

Back on track

Hey, i played a session last night, and its alot better. I didn't really get involved in any pots would make me have to really read the other players. Overall, i think i tighten up a little bit, was playing alot of suited connectors and small pairs in multiway pots. But then, i would bet out with my small pair on that board, or tried raising someone that bet. So for this session i tried not to do that and just be more patient. Well, here are a couple hands that played out.

I pick up Qs 3s in the SB and its limped by 4 other peoples. Flop comes out 2d 3d 3h. I check, its checked all around to the button, he bets 25$ into 30$ pot, i just call, BB makes it 125$ total. Everyone folded to me. At this point, i'm pretty sure he has the 3 and i probably have the best kicker, so i moved it for 230$ more and he calls and shows 6 3. Turn J, river 10. Good start to the night.

Next hand that i play is Kd 8d in position with a couple other people limped in. It goes all the way around to the BB and he makes it 25$ more.(he does that alot to just build pots) We end up being 5 players that put in 30$ plus a couple limpers so about 160$ in the pot. The flop is Ad 3c 5d. For some reason this flop is checked all the way around, so i get to see a free card. Turn is Kh. Now the preflop raiser comes out betting 65$. I have no idea how strong he is, but i might have him beat, he could easily have like JJ and make a play like htat if he thinks no1 has the Ace. So i call. River comes 8c making me 2 pairs and he goes all in for about 150$, we didn't count it, i just insta called. I heard someone say he had A Q but i don't know.

I pick up Ah Ad UTG, so i just limped in. There was 2 limpers and the BB decided to make it 25 total. I thought i would play it a little tricky. The 2 other limpers call and the SB folds. Flop is Js 10c 9s. Needless to say, thats a bad flop. The preflop raiser comes out betting 80$. I think i had the best hand at that point, i just needed a couple blanks or an Ace. Everyone else folded. Turn came Qc. He comes out betting 160$ saying, ''I was on a flush draw but i just hit a straight so make in 160$''. I believed him and folded.

Maybe Next hand that i play, i pick up Ah Ad in the cut-off. The pot was straddled with about 45$ in the pot so i made it 60$. I got 2 callers making the pot a little over 200$. Flop comes out 8s 5s 2h. Its checked around to me, and i come out betting 160$. Player on tilt moves in for his last 360. Other player folds and i call 200 more. Qc on turn and As on the river. I think he had like 6 7 or something like that. I win the pot.

Next hand i play, I limp in late position with Kc 8c. We end up being 5 players in the hand, pot is 25$. Very nice flop for me, its 8h 4c 3c. It's checked around to me, and i bet out 20$. Player on tilt calls. Turn is 9d. Pot is 65$ and i bet out 55$, and i get raised to 155$ total. I think i'm probably beat. He probaly has 8 9 for him to do that, but he's still on tilt, so he could have J 10 and be doing that. I call. I get the best card possible, i get the Ac on the river, giving me second nuts. He comes out betting 210$. I really wanted to get called and i wasn't sure how strong he was since he was on tilt. I wanted to make a bet where he could call and still have chips to re-raise me if he has a flush and be able to call if he has a pair of 9's. I raised to 500$ total and left him another 400$ behind. He insta called, but i didn't see his hand again. For how quick he called i'm pretty sure i could have made it around 700$ total and maybe even all in for 900$. I'm pretty sure that when he's on tilt, he moves in for the last 400$ with a flush so i think he must of had 2 pairs in that spot.

I played a couple more hands, picked up KK but Ace came on flop, lost minimum there. Finished the night up 1300$. So i'm back on track and a good confidence booster before Vegas.

Will post later this week ... until next time ... later

Big loss

So the pre-Vegas poker has not been very good. I've played 2 more sessions since my last post and they were -300$ and -1200$. Very rough start. The first session was a 1-3 NL game and basically just called a couple raises preflop with pairs and suited connectors trying to hit a flop. Missed Everything. Went tap with 7h 7s when the pot was raised to 15$ preflop with 3 other players. 60$ in the pot, flop comes out 2c 3h 5c. I check, next player bets 30$, next one insta calls, next folds and so the pot is 120$, i move in for 150$ total, making a 120$ raise. I thought i was good at that point. First player goes all in over the top. He has 4c 3c. I know i'm behind. Club turn and club river. I wish i had the 7c to bad beat him. lol

Next session.
In the first couples hands, pot is raised to 30$ preflop, with one caller, i pick up 9c 9h in BB, so i call. Flop comes out 3c 9s Qc. 90$ in pot. I check, pre flop raiser bets 50$, i make it 125$. So you know, this is the same player i lost the big 2300$ pot last session. Pretty weak raise, but i gave him AQ or something like that, so i wanted a call and only had 200$ left behind. Turn comes 2c and i didn't want to give a free draw with the Ac so i moved in. Turns out i was wrong when he insta-called with Kc Jc. Try to pair up, no good. Rebuy.

Little later on, reloaded 100$ in chips a couple times, in for 1000$ now and i have 3oo$ or so left. I Pick up AA in middle position with no limpers and raise to 25$. Folded to SB, he raises to 75$ total, and i just flat call. Flop comes J J 3. He bets 150 and i go all in for 80$ more and he calls. He shows QQ. AA holds.

Made a good call on this hand ... i think
Earlier on in the night. I pick up JJ UTG and player to my left raises to 15$. Couple people call and when it gets to me, i just call. Flop comes out Ah Qs 5c. We check to raiser, he bets 15$ again. I'm the only caller. I'm just thinking he either flopped nothing or like 2 pairs. Turn comes a 6c. I check, and he checks behind me. That when i start to think i'm good. River comes a 5. I check again, and he fires 55$ into a pot or about 90$. I thought i was good, and my instinc was that i was good. So i called, but i fealt like it was a pretty lose call, I really gave him something like 10 10 to 8 8. Something like that.

This is the other pot of the night. I pick up As 10s in fairly early position and i limp for 5$. Couple more limpers and the SB raises to 25$ total. I call and 2 others call. Flop comes out Ah 7d 4c. The SB bets out 40$ into a pot of maybe 110$. (At this point, i really think i got him beat, i think this is where i made the mistake, i should have raised here.) I call, next guy calls, other folds. Pot is now 230$. Turn comes 2d. SB bets 100$, i call, and then other player says, i got 325$. SB insta-folds. I know this player is cappable of making a move like this. He obviously can see that i'm not that strong because he knows i would have raised by now. He starts talking shit and telling me to fold and then when i start to show that i really am thinking of calling. For some reason he stops.(I'll explain later) I really think i'm ahead at this point and that he is bluffing that i call 225$ more. The River comes Ad. He miscounted and has 50$ more so he puts it in after i check. I call and he shows 4d 5d. (On the turn, he was all confident, and he says it was because he thought he had 3d 5d, which would give him a straight on the turn. I'm not sure if thats true, or if he's just saying that. Either way, i think being in his spot i would have done the same play. He was very confident and when he finally looked at his hand, he noticed he only had a pair, flush draw and straight draw, he stopped talking and stopped offering to show me his hand. That helped me to call.) The pot ends up being about 1100$.

So thats my start to the new year. I just wonder how this thing would look like if those guys missed thoses 2 draws in the big pots. If i win that 2300$ pot and the 1100$ pot. How different my confidence would be and how much i would be looking forward to the next game. Right now, i'm going to take a couple days off. I played a tourny with some friends on PStars, 20$ buy-in, over 1000 peoples and finished 19th. That fealt good, i'm learning from these guys because they're sick in tournys. Just learning, hopefully i can do it on my own also.

Until next time ....

Happy new year to all !!!

15 hour session to start the new year

Hey, as you can see, i played a pretty long session on starting after work on Jan 1rst and ending on Jan 2nd at 7PM. I also played a couple session since last time I wrote. Last few session have been not so great. I played a couple session of PL Omaha again and lost 500$ total in both sessions, so i think i'm going to stay away from that. The main reason i didn't write is because there wasn't really any interesting hands played. I also played a couple Hold'em sessions, small ones though, coming up with loses of 200$ and 50$.

Now for last nights session. I probably played some of the best poker of my life. I thought i was playing really good, picking up alot of pots because i sensed weekness on the other players part. For the first couple hours, i wasn't picking up anything, made a nice fold with KK when a guy moved in and the board was 3 5 10. I had limped UTG and for the first time all night, no1 raised the pot and every1 limped in.

Heres a hand that we were playing 4 handed. The pot is straddled to 6$ in a 1-3 NL game. I'm on the button and call with Ah 2h. Not too sure about the preflop action but i remember the pot being about 60$ so that would mean it was raised to probably 18$. (that was the usual number) Flop came out 9s 7d 3h. It is checked all around. Turn comes a 9d. Then the person in the BB bets. (he likes to try and steal alot of pots if he picks up a draw and sometimes even with nothing.) Fold in front of me, and i wait a little bit to find out if the guy next to me is folding and he is ready to fold. I think my A high is good if a diamond doesn't come so i call. River is a 5h. The BB bets out 100$. I think about it 2 seconds. I think he would have bet the flop is he had 6 8 so i decide to call. He's mucking and then i show A high. I win.

The pot is raised to 20$ in early postion, we are now 7 - 8 handed. I'm on the button with Ks 7s and decide to call after a couple callers ahead of me. Flop comes out Ad 9s 6h. It is checked around. I fealt like i could steal the pot but decide not to, since recently they always think i'm stealing and starting raising me with nothing. Turn come Kd. Couple checks and the in middle position puts out a bet of 75$ into 120$ pot. I decide to call because i think my K is good there. We get 1 more caller. Now the pot is 345$. River comes a 2h. Check from second caller and the better on the turn bets out 200$. I thought if he had A he would have bet the flop, and if he had a K he would probably think he is good too and bet something that i could call. Since he made a bet that was pretty big. I was thinking he wasn't very strong and gave him the 9. I looked around and could tell that the other player missed his diamond draw. So i called and other player folded. I call out K. he says K is good.

This one hand maybe i didn't play so well. But i thought i would mention it. This is when the game was 4 handed. I pick up Kh 6c on the button and decided to play it for some reason, i think it was for 6$ with the straddle and was raised to 16$ . Flop came out Qh 8h 7h. Pot is 45$. Theres a bet of 25$. I right away think he has a Q. So i call, other player calls. Turn comes a 10c. He now comes out betting 60$. The pot is about 125$. I don't think he has QJ and he wouldn't bet a flush like that. If he has A Q he would raise it preflop, and he didn't raise it preflop. I now think he has something like Q no kicker. Only fear really is 8 or 7 kicker. So i think i have any heart, any K, and the 9 for the straight to win this pot. And he can probably be pushed off the pot. I can represent a floped flush with a raise here and take control of the hand with a raise here and an opportunity to bluff the river if i mise. I decide to raise it to 160$ total. I think it looks like a raise of some1 that has a flush on the flop. He quickly calls after other guy folds. River comes K clubs. He checks and i come out Betting 250$. The pot was now 445$ and i thought if he really put me on flush draw when i raised. He would think i'm bluffing. He decide to fold and said. I think you hit your K on the river. Nice read by him. I'm just affraid the bluff wouldn't have worked like i thought if i missed. Overall, i think i got lucky, he says he had Q 9. So i was right about my read on the turn. I thought i had about 15 outs on the turn to win that pot, end up i had a little less, but still had 14 outs since he had the 9h. Since the flop was all hearts, i think it was a good read, and a good raise to take control of the hand, i think it would have been alot harder to bluff the river if i missed and if i didn't raise the turn. Raising the turn, i think, was the right move.

Here's the hand of the night. Most of these hands are with the same 2 players. So one player raises to 35$ preflop. I call 35$ on the button wtih As Ks, the BB folds. The flop comes out Kh 8h 2s. The BB comes out betting 55$. The preflop raiser min raises to 110$. I decide to raise to 270$ to really find out where i'm at but i'm pretty sure i have the best hand at this point. The BB raises to 600$ with alot of authority. The preflop raiser folds. Its now 330$ for me to call and the player has 460$ behind. The pot is huge, don't know the number, but its big. I start to analize the hand. I'm pretty sure that player wouldn't bet out a set. I don't think he can call with 8 2 or K 8. I think if he has those hands, he is playing it like a set, he is check raising. The only possibility is a flush draw. So now i have determined that he has a flush draw. I say it out loud. i tell him. Do you want to run it if i call. He said no. He also says, he's going all in on the turn so i might aswell put him in now. I decided that i would call and if a heart came on the turn, i would fold. If no heart comes, i call. So i call and the turn comes 4s. He imidiatly moves all in for his last 460$ and i insta call. He shows Ah 9h. My read was right on, i couldn't ask for any better. Pot is now about 2300$. Here comes the river ... drum roll ... 3h. NOOOOOOO !!!!

After that hand i was dead even. I played a couple more hands. I kept picking up draws and missing. I ended up losing 300$ for the night. But i had the opportunity to be up 2300$. All up to 1 card. I cashed out my last 200$ because there was no point of playing the game. It was 4 handed now. One player had about 3100$ in chips, other 3000$ and the other had about 600$ and i was down to 200$. For the night, i never really got super lucky in a big pot to win, i just played very well. Grinding my way to 1100$ profit until losing it all in one hand.

Thats all for today ... i might come add some hands later if i remember them.
