First few sessions back home

Well, i've been home for about 4 days now, and i played 3 nights. My first night back i finished +400, 2nd session i finish -300$ and my last one, last night was - 1000$. Last night i must have played my worst session of all time. It was horrible, always getting involved in hands i shouldn't even see the flop with and ending up getting a piece and getting all my chips in behind and not catching up.

Here are a couple hands from some session in Vegas that i forgot about and some hands from session in the last week.

This was in Vegas, and i picked up Ad 5d in last position and limped into a straddled pot. There was 1 other limper in the pot and the SB and BB completed. I think we were 5 total making the pot 50$. The flop came out Qd 4c 5s. Its checked around to me and i have position so i bet 35$. I had been making alot of bets in position when it was checked around to me. The guy that stradled came out and raised me 35$ more. I thought he was trying to demonstrate a little strenth and maybe had like a weak Q and wanted to see how strong i was. Everyone else folded and i insta called thinking i could get him off his hand on the turn. Turn card came 2d. He made a 100$ bet, but he really seemed uncomfortable doing it, and took him like atleast 10 seconds to put it in. I was getting low stacked and thought that if i was right and he was weak, i could get him to fold, so i pushed in 150$ more to him to call right away and he thought about it for a second and folded.(I also suspect this player was stealing alot of pots when he thought the people were weak.) He folded and said he had 4 5. So he had a weak 2 pairs but i would really thought i would have gotten called by that. When the turn came out, i thought i still had alot of outs if he did have a weak Q or like a 4 5 like he claims to have had.

I played this hand when i got back to Ottawa, playing 1-3 NL. UTG raised to 23$ and i got KK 2 seats down and make it 60$ total. Its folded around and the player moves in for 300$ total. This player alwyas moves in when he has the nuts, i was pretty close to folding but i remember this guy really over playing AK like that before. I could see him making that move with Q's too. So i think he makes that move with A's, A K and Q's ... I can beat 2 of those so i had to call. He showed 9's and K's held up.

Later on that night, the player UTG says'' this game is just bingo, fuck it, i'm going 40$ blind." Of course, i'm next and i pick up As Ks, so i call. Folded around to the BB, (player with the 9's) and he calls also and shows his hand to his buddy sitting next to him. Flop comes out Kd 8h 6h. They both check to me. The pot is 120$ so i bet 100$ and the BB moves in for 145$ more to me. The blind player folds and i call imediatly thinking, at worst we have the same hand, although i would never see him checked that hand on the flop. If he had flop a set he would have pushed all in right away. I'm thinking he's on a flush draw and i just need to dodge hearts. He turns over A 8, no heart. So he's got 2 outs and the turn comes an 8. And he tells me, '' i had to go get those chips you took from me earlier'' i was tempted to say he gave them to me and tried to do it again, but i wanted him to keep on doing it, so i didn'T say anything.

That same night, i played this hand pretty bad. I limp UTG with Qc 10c. Couple limpers for 3$ and the Button raises to 30$. Pretty solid player. I called thinking other people would call.(wasn't liking the call) But everyone else folded. Flop came out 2d 3h 10s. So now i have a 10 and i want to find out if he actually has a big pair so i bet out 40$ into a pot of maybe 66$. He makes it 80$ total. I guess i overthink sometimes because i was thinking he was trying to find out where i was with his AK or something like that. So i called 40$ more. Turn came a 4c. I came out betting 100$ because i thought he might have AK after that 40$ raise, but i really thought he had a big pair preflop. Anyways, this is why i played the hand so bad, i couldn't make a decision what to put him on. He then goes all in for 110$ more. I estimated that the pot was about 550$ and i had to call 110$. He even showed me his KK. I'm not sure if i consider how he played it good, i guess its good because he got me to put more chips in the pot. I know i'm not getting the odds, but i just fealt that if i lose this pot, and call, i,ll be down 100$for the night and not be in horrible shape, the game is pretty easy and if i don't get really unlucky i can make it back. But if i win, i'm up over 500$ for the night, and this player tilts abit when he gets bad beat from my experience of playing with him, so i figured if i win, it will be good for the action in the game also. So i gambled and missed.

Later on, i'm staying pretty steady, up to about 215$ , so down 85 for the night. I pick up AA in pretty early position and make in 20$ total. Everyone folds to the BB(same guy as last hand) and he makes it 50$ total. Right away i put him on Jacks or better so i just flat call so that i can get another bet out of him if he has an over pair to the board and also to not show too much strenght. Flop comes out pretty good, 5d 6d 8c. He comes out betting 50$. I take a little bit of time, a little acting, showing that i'm not too sure, and move in for 115$ more. He thinks about it for abit and calls with QQ. Turn 10, river Q. Thats all folks.

I limp in the cut off with Qs 10s and the SB makes it 18$ total(1-3 NL) and 3 peoples call making the pot just about 90$ with my call. Flop comes out Ah Kh Jd. The SB checks and the BB makes a 50$ bet. Its folded around to me, i think he either has a 2 pairs or somekind of flush draw or straight draw, not too sure, but i think i'm ahead, and i wouldn't mind taking the pot down right now. So i make it 100$ more to him. He only has 150$ left behind and after thinking about it for a while, he moves in. He has K J and a J comes on the river.

Couple hands later agains the same guy, i resucked on him, i don't remember the betting so much, but he had K 5(his hand should have been mucked preflop since he was not at the table and the dealer called for him in the SB.) and the flop was K 5 6. I have KQ and he check raised the flop and bet the turn, and i moved in for the little chips i had left. I think he made it like 40$ on the flop and bet 70$ on the turn and i had like 110$ left. Turn was a J and river came out a Q. I just thought he might of had 2 pairs, but i still thought i still had decent outs. I thought he might also do that with KQ thinking that he had the best kicker, or maybe even K J. Knowing that he had K 5, i had any Q, any 6 and any J to win. Still 9 outs so just about 20%. Not the worst shape i could be in.

I picked up 8d 9d in middle position and i think the SB raised it to 15$ total. BB called, and the button called. Flop came out 10c 9s 3h. Blinds checked and i bet out 35$ into 60$ pot. Button called and SB called. Turn came Ac. SB check, i checked and the button bet out 50$. SB folded and i thought about it for a second, i thought the button had somekind of draw, like QJ and since i checked the turn, he took control of the hand. I know this guy is capable of a move like that. So i called. River came a 5h. I checked again and the button bet out 100$ and i insta called. He showed Kc Jc.

I picked up 6s 9s in late postion in a limped pot. The flop came out 3s 6c 7c. A really loose player bets out 10$ into a 18$ pot and i called, 1 other player called. Turn came the 8s. So now i have a huge draw and the same player comes out betting 30$ this time, i call thinking that if i get a 5, a Spade, a 9 or 10 i'm good. I'm giving him something like A 7. I give him the 7, so he can't have a flush draw except for maybe the spade draw, but i would call his bet if i hit a flush. So the river comes a 9c. He bets out 100$. Since i put him on a pair of 7's, with the 7c on the board, he can't have flush, and i don't think he has 5 or 10 even though theres no way or knowing that. I just said to myself that those are the outs i was giving me on the turn, i have to go threw with it. So i called, and i was good. He mucked his hand which made me think that he might have been bluffing the whole way. Usually he would show when he got beat on the river.

First hand i play all night, i pick up Ah Kh in middle position and make in 15$. I get 3 callers. The flop comes out 7c 7h 3s. Its checked around and i come out betting 45$ and the last player raises me 65$ more making it 110$ total. If i re raise, my all in would be a 125$ more. I looked at him while he was putting the chips in and he didn'T have the same confidence as when he had 2 pairs earlier and i really thought he was weak, but he could have like 5 5 and be a little nervous about the play and still call me thinking i have AK. I was really close to pushing my chips in and making him call because i really didn't think he had the 7. I couldn't go threw with it and folded. He showed 8c 2c. This player made a nice read, and i think i did an even better read, but reads are pointless if you don't trust them i guess. Let me know what you think of this one guys .... if you get to reading this one.

I call 10$ with Ah 9h on the button with everyone folding ahead of me to the straddle. SB and BB complete and the straddle makes it 50$ total. This player does this all the time so i call. Usually i would wait to have a better hand in this spot to do this, but i got some chips and i think i can outplay him if the flop seems right. The SB folds and BB calls. So 160$ in the pot. Flop comes Ac 6c 2c. The straddler comes out betting 75$, and i make it 175$ total thinking i have the best hand. BB folds, and straddler really doesn't look that strong to me and looks like he's folding and then decides to raise me another 100$. We get into alot of confrontation, me and this player and i have a feeling he might just have a flush draw or just trying to make a move on me, just like i'm trying to make a move on him. So i decide that i think i have the best hand right now, and make it 375$ more to him to call. He calls almost instantly and shows 9c 7c. Not good, almost drawing dead. Turn comes a 4, river 4. No help.

I picked up 10d 5d(yes this is ugly) maybe a little bit of a tilt, couple hands after that Ah 9h. The player ahead of me makes it 10$ total and i call and we end up being 5 players who put in 10$ each, so 50$ in the pot. Flop comes out Jd 3d 4s. Its checked around and i bet 35$ with my flush draw trying to maybe take it down there if everyone missed. I get 1 caller. Turn comes a 10c. He checks to me and i bet out 60$ this time. He then goes all in for 110$ more. The pot is now about 340$ and i think if i catch my 10 i'm probably good, i just don't know what he could have. I'm pretty sure if i hit my flush i'm good so i call. He had 3 3. Not good. I missed.

I pick up Ah 10h in middle position and theres a couple limpers. The BB makes it 25$ more. I call, and 2 other players call, pot is 120$. Flop comes out Ac Qh Jc. I come out betting 50$(i thought about this on the way home, i wasn't even making good bets anymore, i was playing so bad at this point) I get 1 caller. Turn comes 6c. Now i make another bad bet and bet 100$ into a pot of 220$. He still calls. Usually this player would raise me if he had a flush, but he was playing good yesterday and he obviously could tell i wasn't. So when the river came a 2h and i went all in for 180$, he called instantly with 5c 9c. Thats when i quit.

Well those are a couple hands that i played in the last few nights. I think i was really reading the people really good in Vegas and the first few days back. Didn't trust my reads a couple times and cost me. I just need to slow down abit, focus abit more on school and other stuff and i know i will be in better shape to play when i got back. Probably just a little mentaly tired of playing so much in the last couple weeks.

Until next time, Enjoy.
